Sunday Lane and Ramp Closures for Capital Boulevard in Raleigh

RALEIGH Work on a Capital Boulevard resurfacing project will require a series of short-term lane closures this Sunday.

To take advantage of the anticipated fair weekend weather and temperatures, NCDOT engineers are allowing contractors to resurface Capital Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

One crew will be closing a single lane of traffic in the northbound direction between Wade Avenue and Atlantic Avenue. Once paving is completed in one lane it will be opened and the adjacent lane will be closed for the same resurfacing work.

A second crew will be closing the bridge from southbound Wake Forest Road to northbound Capital Boulevard to complete repaving in that area.

A signed detour will be in place for traffic going from southbound Wake Forest Road to northbound Capital Boulevard. Drivers will be sent onto southbound Capital Boulevard, at which point they will be permitted to make a U-turn to head north on the boulevard.

Drivers are urged to slow down and pay attention as they approach the work zones and travel along the short detour routes.
