CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The license plate agency office, at 1704-B E. Franklin St. at the Shops at Eastgate in Chapel Hill, will be closed Nov. 2 while it is moved to a new location in Carrboro.
The office will reopen on Nov. 5 at 104 West N.C. Highway 54, Suite D, in Carrboro, at the Carrboro Plaza Shopping Center.
The new office will provide more accessible workstations, additional parking and handicap accessibility in a location already familiar to the public. The new office also will be adjacent to the Carrboro Driver License office.
The Carrboro office hours will continue to be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

NCDMV offers license plate registration renewals and many other services online. Customers are encouraged to check the official NCDMV website at MyNCDMV.gov to see if their registration needs can be met online.
