Public Meeting Scheduled for U.S. 70 Intersection Improvements in Lenoir County

LA GRANGE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting Thursday night regarding proposed improvements to U.S. 70 between N.C. 903 and just southeast of the intersection with Jim Sutton Road/Willie Measley Road in Lenoir County.

Tentative plans include the conversion of the existing intersection of Jim Sutton Road/Willie Measley Road to an interchange. A map of the preferred alternative design can be viewed on the NCDOT Public Meetings website..

The meeting will take place on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at La Grange Community Center, 410 E. Washington Street. Interested residents may attend at any time during the meeting hours, as no formal presentation will be made. Additional information can also be found on the project's public meeting webpage.

NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and listen to comments regarding the project. Comments may also be submitted via email or phone by Dec. 12. Comments received will be taken into consideration as the project plans are finalized.
