Walnut Cove - N.C. Department of
Transportation contractors must close a portion of Bolejack Road between N.C. 8
and Friendship Road near Walnut Cove while they replace an aging bridge that no
longer meets the demands of traffic crossing it.
The
roadway will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 16. It is expected to
open by Friday, Oct. 12.
Drivers will use Friendship
Road, Mountain View Road, and N.C. 8, to detour around the work in
opposite directions.
Transportation officials remind
motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the
posted speed limit.
