Siler City - The N.C. Department of
Transportation will close Arthur Teague Road near Varnell Creek, east of Siler
City, next week to replace a drainage pipe.
The closure is scheduled to begin Monday, April 23, with the road
expected to reopen in August. A crew for Hunting Creek Construction Inc. of
Harmony will replace the pipe under the road in the Silk Hope community with a
double-barreled, concrete-reinforced culvert.
A signed detour will route motorists onto Silk Hope Road and U.S.
64.
The NCDOT contract is worth $514,444.
