WINSTON-SALEM – Nighttime lane closures
on Business 40 needed last month for the installation of guardrails and barrier
walls have ended for this phase of work along the Business 40
Improvement project in Winston-Salem.
Work
requiring both lanes along Liberty Street to close will also end; weather
permitting by 5p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2. Demolition work however continues on
Liberty Street, requiring the right lane adjacent to the Old Steam Academy
building to remain closed.
Contractors must close a
portion of First Street between Poplar Street and Brookstown Avenue next week as
crews continue new waterline installations. The installations span the project
between Church Street and Peters Creek Parkway.
NCDOT
reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert, slow
down in the work zone and obey the posted speed limit.
