WINSTON-SALEM — N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will close the inside lane along a portion of I-40 Business eastbound between mile markers 10 and 14 just west of Kernersville for work on the Winston-Salem Northern Beltway Project.
The lane closure will be installed at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 12 and removed on 6:00am on Monday, April 2; weather permitting.
“This closure is needed so crews can pave and widen the shoulder, allowing traffic to be shifted for construction of interior bridge supports for the new beltway interchange,” said NCDOT Division Engineer Pat Ivey.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert, slow down in the work zone and obey the posted speed limit.
