Lane Closures Ahead for Overhead Sign Installations on Interstate 40 in Forsyth County

Winston-Salem - N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close lanes along I-40 East between mile markers 192 and 193 in Winston-Salem while they install an overhead sign near the Silas Creek Parkway entrance ramp and replace the overhead sign near the southbound U.S. 52 exit.

Lanes will close from 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, until 6 a.m. on Thursday, April 5.

“These signs are too large to install while traffic is driving underneath and could present a safety hazard, thus closing lanes is in the best interest of drivers and crew members,” said NCDOT Assistant Resident Engineer Nicholas Librandi.

While a full closure will not be in effect there will be slowdowns in this area. NCDOT reminds motorists to obey the posted speed limit, and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
