WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of
Transportation contractors will close lanes along portions of Business 40 for
pothole repairs in Winston-Salem on Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 9 a.m. until 3
p.m.
Business 40 will close at three locations:
- Between Main Street and Peters Creek Parkway;
- At the on-ramp from Liberty Street to Business 40 westbound; and
- At the off-ramp from Business 40 to Cherry Street.
“Closing this portion of highway allows our contractor to make
permanent repairs at these highly traveled locations with reoccurring potholes,”
said NCDOT Division Engineer Pat Ivey.
Drivers will
be able to detour around the ramp closures by following signed detours.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction
information, stay alert, slow down in the work zone and obey the posted speed
limit.
