One Lane Will Remain Open in Each
Direction
JACKSONVILLE— Drivers traveling on U.S.
258 in Jacksonville near the intersection of Ridge Road and Blue Creek Road will
likely encounter intermittent lane closures beginning Friday, Jan. 26. The
closure is needed so a Department of Transportation contractor can install a new
drainage pipe under the road.
“This work is part of a project that will improve travel in the
area by aligning Ridge Road and Blue Creek Road,” said Jacksonville Resident
Engineer Trevor Carroll. “We are also adding a traffic signal at this location
which will yield great safety benefits.”
The closure will be in place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each weekday
day until early March.
No detours are required; however, transportation officials urge
motorists to use caution while traveling through the work zone.
