Public Meeting Scheduled for Proposed Improvements to N.C. 51 in Pineville and Charlotte

CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting next week regarding a project to convert the existing section of N.C. 51 (Pineville-Matthews Road) between Park Road and Carmel Road to a median-divided roadway to improve safety and traffic flow through the corridor.

A map of the proposed improvements can be found at public-meetings.

The meeting will be held on Monday, May 21, at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library Morrison Branch, 7015 Morrison Boulevard in Charlotte from 4 to 7 p.m. Interested citizens may attend the meeting at any time, as no formal presentation will be made. For residents who cannot attend the meeting, comments can be submitted in writing, by phone or email through June 5.
