DURHAM – The planned weekend closure of Herndon Road in Durham has been postponed. After work had started earlier today, utility conflicts discovered during the culvert installation forced crews to delay the project. All lanes of the road are expected to be open Friday evening as soon as safety markers and equipment have been cleared.
The section of Herndon Road south of Barbee Road was set to be closed through the weekend so contractors could install a pair of pipes. They will be replacing two 24-inch pipes under the road about 500 feet south of the intersection of Barbee Road, Herndon Road, and Massey Chapel Road.
