Wilson Road Bridge Closing for Replacement in Davidson County

LINWOOD – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will begin work next week replacing the Wilson Road bridge over a tributary to South Potts Creek, prompting a 3-month closure.

That portion of road will close at 7 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21. It is scheduled to re-open by Monday, April 22, or earlier if construction wraps up ahead of schedule.

Local traffic will still be able to access locations on either side of the bridge up to the point of closure.

Motorists will be able to use N.C. 150 to detour around the closure.

This project is part of the department's overall program to improve the condition of the state's bridges and ensure the safety of drivers who rely on them.

NCDOT reminds motorists to use extra caution around the work zone and anticipate possible delays along the detour route.
