MAURY – A section of a Greene County road will be closed for maintenance work starting next week.
The N.C. Department of Transportation will close part of Bert Street, near N.C. 123, in both directions on March 11. The road is scheduled to remain closed through March 22.
During this time, crews will replace the pipe culvert under the road that was damaged during Hurricane Florence.
While the road near Maury is closed, drivers will be detoured onto Judge Hardy Street and N.C. 123. Drivers should anticipate needing extra time and should slow down approaching in the work zone.
