KINGS MOUNTAIN – The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close N.C. 161 near King Street this week for a pipe replacement project.
Crews will close the road from 7 a.m. Tuesday until 7 p.m. Wednesday. Rain may delay the work and extend the completion further into the week.
Drivers heading south on N.C. 161 will be detoured along King Street, N.C. 216 and Gold Street to return to N.C. 161. Northbound traffic will be detoured along Slater Street, South Oriental Avenue and King Street back to N.C. 161.
