INDIAN TRAIL - Two of three lanes will be closed on U.S. 74 East between Stallings Road and Indian Trail-Fairview Road after a crash Sunday damaged an overhead highway sign. Due to safety concerns, NCDOT officials have determined a portion of the sign structure needs to be removed before opening the lanes to traffic.
The two right lanes will be closed at 9 a.m. while workers remove the sign. Between 10 and 11 a.m., U.S. 74 East will be temporarily closed to safely remove a section of the sign structure. The closure will last approximately 15 minutes.
Drivers can use Stallings Road or the Monroe Expressway to avoid delays.
