NCDOT to Improve Roads in Eight Eastern Counties

NEW BERN – The N.C. Department of Transportation will make striping and lane marking improvements to more than 700 miles of secondary roads in eight eastern North Carolina counties.

TRP Construction Group LLC, of Fort Worth, Texas, will replace pavement markings on more than 722 miles of 128 secondary roads in Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Pitt, Jones, Lenoir, Pamlico and Greene counties. The project calls for use of a new style of durable marking paint called polyuria that should last five to 10 years.

The contractor can start this project as early as late this month and should complete the work by the summer of 2020. The contract is worth $9.8 million.
