Lenoir County Road to Close During Pipe Replacement

LA GRANGE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a Lenoir County road for two weeks while crews replace multiple pipes.

Beginning May 6, over the two-week period a different section of N.C. 903 will close between Brothers Road in Lenoir County and Parkston Road in Greene County. The road, north of La Grange, is expected to be closed while crews replace crossline pipes ahead of resurfacing it.

Because the location of work will change throughout the two weeks, the detour routes will also change. The detours for each date are as follow:

May 6 and 7: Heading north: Drivers will use Maynard Hicks Road, Frink School Road and Parkstown Road; Heading south: It will be Parkstown Road, La Grange Road and Maynard Hicks Road.

May 8 and 9: The detour route uses Brothers Road and Five Points Road.

May 13 and 14: Drivers will detour around the closure using Brothers Road and Five Points Road.

Drivers should anticipate needing extra time for their commute and slowing down when approaching the work zone.
