CHARLOTTE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will be milling and paving a 300-foot asphalt section of I-277, requiring lane closures Tuesday and Wednesday nights, May 14 and 15. This work is included in a $16.3 million project to improve 22 bridges along I-277 between 10th Street and I-77.
Work will start on the inside lanes of the Inner Loop near I-77 (Exit 1C), shifting the following night to the outside lanes. The lane closures will be in place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Work will be rescheduled if rain is in the forecast.
During this time, drivers heading north on I-77 will follow a detour to U.S. 74 West, turn right on Morehead Street, and proceed back to I-77 North.
