WINSTON-SALEM – A construction project will require overnight closures for two sections of Business 40 in Winston-Salem next week.
N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews need to close the business interstate to safely reconstruct shoulders between U.S. 158/Reidsville Road and Old Greensboro/Linville Road.
Eastbound Business 40 will be closed starting at U.S. 158 (exit 8) from 10 p.m. Sunday, June 16, until 5 a.m. the following morning. Traffic will be detoured to follow U.S. 158 to Old Greensboro Road back to Business 40.
Westbound Business 40 will then close starting at Old Greensboro/Linville Road (exit 10) from 10 p.m. Monday, June 17, until 5 a.m. the next morning. The detour for that closure will follow the same roads as the previous night’s closure in reverse.
The work and associated closures are weather dependent. Drivers should slow down and be cautious near the closures and allow for extra time to because of the detours.
