Work Shifts to Second Bridge Project on Davidson County Road

THOMASVILLE – Work has concluded on one bridge replacement project and crews have shifted to a second bridge project on the same Davidson County roadway.

The first closure on Clodfelter Road has been lifted now that the bridge over Abbotts Creek is complete, and the closure has shifted north to the bridge over Brushy Fork Creek. Both bridges were built in 1951 and had reached the end of their life cycle.

The second bridge is expected to open by Dec. 6, 2019. Until then, local traffic will still be able to access residences and businesses on either side of the work zone.

Signs will be in place to direct motorists on a detour during the closure, using Ridge, Midway School and Hoy Long roads.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and allow additional travel time to reach their destinations safely.
