Public Meeting for Iredell County Interchange Improvements

STATESVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting next week to update citizens on a project to improve the Interstate 40/Interstate 77 interchange. More than 70,000 vehicles use the interchange every day, and that number is expected to climb to 110,000 vehicles per day by 2035.

Some project improvements include: 

  • ​Improvements to the I-40/I-77 interchange
  • Better access management on East Broad Street between Vine Street and Signal Hill Drive
  • Modifications to interchanges at I-40/Mocksville Road and I-77/East Broad Street

The meeting will be held Monday, Aug. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Statesville Agricultural Center, located at 444 Bristol Drive. Interested citizens may attend the meeting at any time for updates on construction activities and the project’s timeline.

For more information about the project, contact Dan Duffield, NCDOT Project Manager at 1595 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C., 27699-1595 or 919-707-6611. If citizens cannot attend the meeting, comments can be submitted by phone, mail or email through Aug. 19.

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for disabled persons who wish to participate in this meeting. Anyone requiring special services should contact Kayla Weber at 919-707-6061 as early as possible so that arrangements can be made.
