HIGH POINT – Eastbound Interstate 74 traffic will be detoured overnight​ Friday while N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews install a new drainage pipe near Eastchester Drive/N.C. 68.
I-74 will be closed at the interchange from 10 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday. During that time, drivers will be directed to take Exit 67 for Eastchester Drive to exit from and return to the interstate.
The work was originally scheduled for Friday night but was delayed due to weather.
Drivers on I-74 East should slow down near Eastchester Drive, watch for signage for the temporary traffic pattern and be cautious throughout the work zone.
