CLEMMONS – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews plan to close a lane of Interstate 40 overnight near the Forsyth-Davie county line.
The outside lane of I-40 West is scheduled to be closed between just west of Harper Road (Exit 182) and N.C. 801 (Exit 180) from 7 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday, weather permitting.
The closure will allow the contractor to safely work on an overhead sign as part of the ongoing project to replace the I-40 bridges over the Yadkin River and widen and improve 3.3 miles of the interstate.
Drivers should be cautious and watch for slowing traffic when approaching the work zone.
