RALEIGH – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will open a new full-time license plate agency (LPA) in Cherokee County on Sept. 24.
The agency will be located at 1176 Andrews Road in Murphy.
The LPA will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, except on state holidays. Cherokee County LPA, LLC will be the agency operator and the contact phone number is 828-837-9922.
The new agency replaces the part-time state-operated office at the same location.
LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags and duplicate registrations. Currently, there are 126 license plate agencies operating across North Carolina.
