MORRISVILLE –Thanks to a new contract from the N.C. Department of Transportation, Louis Stephens Drive will soon be extended about 7/10 of a mile from O'Kelly Chapel Road/Little Drive near Research Triangle Park, under the Triangle Expressway to Gray Marble Road.
Work to be performed includes grading, paving and drainage of the roadway and construction of a greenway and retaining wall. A new signal will also be added at the intersection of Louis Stephens Drive and McCrimmon Parkway as a part of this project.
Construction will start later this fall and should wrap up by January 2022 under a $5.47-million contract with Raleigh-based Carolina Sunrock, LLC.
