HIGH POINT – A span of Interstate 74 East/U.S. 311 South is scheduled to close for another overnight period.
N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews plan to close one lane near Eastchester Drive starting at 8 p.m. Thursday, and then close both lanes at 10 p.m. to install a new storm drainpipe.
The closure is scheduled to be removed by 6 a.m. Friday. Until then, traffic will be detoured to take Eastchester Drive, exit 67, and keep straight across the intersection for the ramp back onto the highway.
Drivers headed east/south on the highway should slow down when approaching Eastchester Drive, be mindful of the crews working in the area and anticipate the possibility of brief delays because of the short detour.
