Upcoming Work in Downtown Kinston

KINSTON – Construction on a road in Lenoir County is nearing the end but will continue through next month.

N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will mill and resurface Queen Street in Kinston, from north of the Neuse River bridge to Vernon Avenue, upon completion of the city’s streetscape project.

The work is expected to start Monday, Oct. 7 and last through the beginning of November.

On Oct. 7 and 8, crews will mill and pave between Shine and King streets. That section of Queen Street will be closed on those dates, so drivers should take King Street to U.S. 70 as a detour.

Beyond those dates, NCDOT will send more releases on the type of work being completed by the contractor, what locations will be impacted, and detours to get around the closures.
