Public Meeting Set for Proposed U.S. 158 Upgrades in Forsyth Co.

WINSTON SALEM – Proposed improvements to U.S. 158/Reidsville Road are the focus of a public meeting set for this week.

The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to widen the highway to improve traffic operations between U.S. 421/Business 40 and Belews Creek Road in Forsyth County.

The open house-style meeting is scheduled for Oct. 10 from 4-6 p.m. at Gospel Light Baptist Church, located at 890 Walkertown-Guthrie Road in Winston-Salem. People may stop by anytime during those hours, as there will be no formal presentation.

Project representatives will be on hand to answer questions and receive public feedback that will be considered as the project develops.

Comments may also be submitted by Oct. 25 to NCDOT Project Engineer Connie James at 336-747-7800 or ckjames1@ncdot.gov.

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for people who wish to participate in this meeting. Anyone requiring such services should contact Tony Gallagher at 919-707-6069 or magallagher@ncdot.gov as early as possible to make arrangements.
