WINTERVILLE – A portion of a Pitt County road will be closed from mid-October through early spring of 2020 for construction.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, Reedy Branch Road will be closed on both sides of the intersection with N.C. 11. The highway will remain open.
During the closure, the N.C. Department of Transportation will replace drainage pipes and install traffic islands. This project costs about $730,000 and construction is expected to last through late March 2020.
Traffic should use N.C. 903 to Reedy Branch Road or Main Street to Mill Street/Old N.C. 11 to Reedy Branch as detour routes.
Drivers should anticipate needing extra time for their commute and slow down when approaching the construction.
