EASTOVER – New bridges for Interstate 95 Business/U.S. 301 over Dunn Road in Eastover reopened Monday.
An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor rebuilt the pair of bridges (northbound and southbound). The previous spans were built in 1957 and had become functionally obsolete.
The new spans are taller and have wider shoulders that meet current standards. Construction started in the fall of 2018. The contractor will do some additional work over the next couple of weeks to improve grading, landscaping and drainage below the new bridges.
