NC Quick Pass Celebrates One Year in Charlotte-Area

CHARLOTTE – NC Quick Pass, the toll collection program managed by the North Carolina Turnpike Authority, is celebrating one year of service in the Charlotte area. NC Quick Pass opened two customer service centers ahead of the Monroe Expressway, the first toll facility in the region. NC Quick Pass is also the customer service management provider for the express lanes on I-77.

“We are grateful for a successful first year of customer service in the area and look forward to serving the Charlotte region for many years to come,” said Turnpike Authority Executive Director J.J. Eden. “We are hearing from customers who say they are able to spend more time with family and loved ones, and that is what our job is all about.”

For drivers who choose to use toll facilities, using a transponder is the cheapest and easiest way to pay. Since October 1, 2018, about 114,000 NC Quick Pass accounts have been opened and over 280,000 transponders have been distributed.

NC Quick Pass customers:

  • Save 35 percent on tolls in North Carolina;

  • Seamlessly pay tolls from a prepaid account on toll roads in North Carolina and partnering states; and

  • Pay lower rates on some E-ZPass, SunPass and Peach Pass toll facilities.
