RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation is scheduled to close lanes on various interstates next week to allow for the safe completion of overhead sign maintenance.
Sunday, crews will close the outside lane of Interstate 540 East near Exit 16 (Triangle Town Boulevard) and the outside two lanes of I-540 West near Exit 17 (Triangle Town Boulevard) from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday.
Monday, crews will close the outside two lanes of I-440 East near Exit 14 (I-87) from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Tuesday, crews will close all lanes of I-85 North between Exits 172 and 173 from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. Thursday. A signed detour will lead drivers to take Exit 172 to N.C. 147 South, then take Exit 16A to U.S. 15/501 North back to I-85 North.
Drivers should allow extra time and pay extra attention while driving through the work zone.
