RURAL HALL – State transportation contractors are planning several overnight closures of U.S. 52 as part of ongoing work on the
Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project.
Both directions of the highway are scheduled to close at the N.C. 65 interchange at 10 p.m. on Dec. 3, Dec. 4, Dec. 9 and Dec. 10 and reopen at 6 a.m. the following mornings. Traffic will take N.C. 65 – Exit 118 – and travel through the intersection to get back onto U.S. 52.
The closure is needed for contract crews to safely set girders for the second phase of the new bridge at the interchange.
Drivers should slow down when approaching Exit 118 and be mindful of the crews throughout the work zone.
