KERNERSVILLE – Lane reductions will be utilized this week on Business 40 in eastern Forsyth County as part of ongoing work on the Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project.
One lane in each direction of the highway will be closed near Hastings Hill Road, where work is underway to tie Business 40 into the future beltway.
The closures will occur in two waves: the first from 8 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday and the second from 4-11 a.m. Saturday.
Closing the lanes will ensure both contractors and drivers are safe as crews work to move portable concrete barrier, set overhead signs, mow and complete bridge work in this area.
Drivers should slow down and be cautious throughout the work zone. They may also use N.C. 66, Interstate 40 and U.S. 52 as alternative routes to avoid Business 40 during the closures.
