RALEIGH — As part of the Capital Boulevard Bridges project, N.C. Department of Transportation contractors are set to shift traffic to a new alignment between Lane Street and Wade Avenue this week.
A double lane closure on the northbound side will begin at 10 p.m. Thursday to allow crews to make the necessary pavement tie-ins, move portable concrete barriers and complete striping for the traffic shift. All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Friday.
The southbound lanes will be shifted in much the same way on Friday night. Beginning at 10 p.m., a double lane closure will be installed to accommodate the necessary work. All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Saturday.
The closures are weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers should pay extra attention in the work zone.
