DMV Offices in Sandhills and Southeastern N.C. Experiencing Service Interruption

RALEIGH – An internet fiber cut in the Benson area has resulted in service interruptions at many N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles driver license and license plate agency offices in east central and southeastern North Carolina.

The outages include areas from south of Raleigh, to the Fayetteville and Wilmington areas.

The service interruption is also affecting some DMV online driver license and vehicle registration services.

Officials with NCDMV and the N.C. Dept. of Information Technology are working with Windstream to correct the problem as soon as possible.  This morning’s fiber cut also briefly affected NCDMV‘s main call center in Bladen County but the call center is operating again.

Customers can visit the NCDMV website to check on the status of their local office.
