Slow Rolling Operations Set for Monday on I-26

ASHEVILLE – N.C. Department of Transportation officials, with assistance from the State Highway Patrol, will perform two slow-rolling traffic operations in the Interstate 26 construction zone on Monday.

One slow-rolling operation will begin around 10 a.m. and last less than 20 minutes between Brevard Road and Long Shoals Road. A contractor will remove large rock as part of a clearing operation between exits 33 and 37.

On Monday evening as early as 5:30, depending on traffic flow, another operation will begin at the Airport Road on-ramp in the westbound direction. Crews will repair a small portion of the bridge over Glenn Bridge Road before traffic is released.

Transportation officials ask that drivers be patient during these operations for the safety of drivers, the safety of the officers performing the operations, and the safety of workers in the construction zone.
