WILKESBORO – N.C. Department of Transportation officials plan to close access to Winkler Mill Road from U.S. 421 from 8 a.m. on Monday until the evening to complete a small project.
Crews will be moving city utility lines in advance of an upcoming project to install new drainage lines in the area, weather permitting. A contract for the drainage project is expected to be awarded later this spring or summer.
Drivers will be directed to access Winkler Mill Road from Dancy Road, which is less than a mile west of the Winkler Mill Road intersection with U.S. 421. Through traffic may continue on U.S. 421 and all other driveways will remain open.
