This Week at NCDOT: Department Donates Supplies and Census 2020

RALEIGH – The following are highlights from this week at the N.C. Department of Transportation. The stories below are also featured in NCDOT Now, the department's weekly newscast.

NCDOT Donates Supplies to Medical Professionals

NCDOT is working to do its part to help medical professionals have the personal protective equipment they need to fight COVID-19.

NCDOT employees around the state gathered thousands of masks, gloves, and protective aprons and suits. Most of what was collected was sent to North Carolina hospitals and medical professionals in need.

For everyone helping during this pandemic, thank you.

More information on COVID-19

Remember, the state’s health and human services’ web page is North Carolina’s trusted, official source to get the most accurate, up-to-date information on the coronavirus.

NCDOT is also providing updates as necessary, from ferry schedules to temporary closures of local DMV offices. You can find that information and more on our website

Census 2020

NCDOT is partnering with the Department of Administration to get the word out about the 2020 Census. If you haven’t completed a Census survey, please do. It is your chance to make sure your community counts. Census data ensures communities get money for critical needs like housing, schools, roads and health care.

People can fill out a Census survey online or by phone or mail in less than 10 minutes without ever leaving home or talking to anyone in person. Federal law requires all information collected be kept confidential.

To take the Census survey online, go to my2020census.gov.
