WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews have planned closures for this week at the Interstate 40 interchange with I-74.
Repairing a failed section of pavement near the I-40 West bridge over Willard Road will require closures from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to about 5 p.m. Thursday at two locations:
The left lane of I-40 West at I-74 (Exit 196). Traffic will be shifted for this closure.
All lanes of I-74 West where it joins I-40 West. For this closure, traffic will be required to take Exit 55 and follow I-40 East to Union Cross Road (Exit 201) to access I-40 West.
All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers should slow down and be mindful of the crews working near the interchange and allow extra time for the detour.
