MORRISVILLE — One of the main thoroughfares in Morrisville will be closed this week to allow crews to perform railroad repairs.
Morrisville-Carpenter Road will be closed at the Norfolk Southern Railway crossing near N.C. 54/Chapel Hill Road from 8 a.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Friday to allow crews to replace railroad track and to repave and restripe pavement at the crossing. This work is weather dependent.
Traffic will be directed to follow Chapel Hill Road, McCrimmon Parkway and Davis Drive to bypass the closure.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working near the rail crossing and watch for signage for the detour.
