KERNERSVILLE – A section of a Forsyth County road is set to close temporarily this week as part of an ongoing extension project.
Contractors plan to close Macy Grove Road between East Mountain Street and Old Greensboro Road in Kernersville from 5 a.m. Friday until 9 p.m. Saturday. The closure will enable crews to safely remove the existing median barrier wall and install drainage systems along this stretch.
The work is weather dependent and subject to change.
A detour will be in place during the closure, following East Mountain Street, Triad Business Park Drive and Old Greensboro Road.
Drivers should slow down and be mindful of crews working in this area and allow a little extra time because of the detour.
This work is part of the ongoing 1.7-mile extension of Macy Grove Road on new location between East Mountain Street and North Main Street in Kernersville.
