BURLINGTON – A section of an Alamance County road is scheduled to close the next three weekends while contract crews continue to work on a pedestrian bridge project.
Glen Raven Road is set to close between North Park Avenue and Cadiz Street from 7 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Monday, May 11, so crews can pour concrete for the bridge deck. The same closure will be in place during the same hours May 15-18 and June 5-8, while the bridge is painted.
The closures will enable crews to safely erect a pedestrian bridge over the roadway as part of the expansion of the Glen Raven manufacturing facility. All the work is weather dependent and subject to change.
A signed detour will be in place along North Park Avenue and Chestnut, Durham and Cadiz streets.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working in this area and allow extra time for the detour.
