KERNERSVILLE – State transportation contractors have planned several lane closures along U.S. 421 in Forsyth County during daytime hours this week.
Weather permitting, U.S. 421 North is set to be reduced to one lane daily between South Main Street in Kernersville (Exit 224) and Linville Road (Exit 228). The closures will be in place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and will vary between the inside and outside lanes.
The closures will allow crews to safely work on the ongoing Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project.
Drivers should slow down when approaching this stretch of U.S. 421 North, be mindful of the crews at work and expect slight delays due to the lane reduction. They may also use N.C. 66, Interstate 40 and U.S. 52 as alternative routes to avoid U.S. 421 during the closures.
