KERNERSVILLE – State transportation contractors plan to close a section of a Forsyth County road for a couple days this week.
Macy Grove Road in Kernersville is scheduled to close between East Mountain Street and Old Greensboro Road from 6 a.m. Wednesday until 9 p.m. Thursday. The work is weather dependent and subject to change.
The closure is needed for crews to safely pave the connection between the existing Macy Grove Road and the new extension of the road to the north.
A detour will be in place during the closure, following East Mountain Street, Triad Business Park Drive and Old Greensboro Road.
Drivers should slow down and use caution near the work zone and plan ahead for the short detour.
The 1.7-mile extension of Macy Grove Road will provide a new connection between East Mountain Street and North Main Street on the east side of town.
