RALEIGH — N.C. Department of Transportation crews are planning an overnight closure tonight at the Western Boulevard interchange as a part of the Interstate 440 Improvements Project.
From 9 p.m. tonight until 6 a.m. tomorrow, the exit loop from I-440 West to eastbound Western Boulevard (Exit 2A) will close to allow crews to install guardrail along the inside of the ramp and repair damaged barrier.
A detour will lead drivers to exit at Jones Franklin Road (Exit 1C) to turn around and then take I-440 East back to Western Boulevard.
Motorists need to pay attention near this work zone and anticipate needing extra time for the detour.
