CHARLOTTE – Ramp closures will continue this week on Interstate 277 as work resumes on a $16.3 million project to improve 22 bridges along the corridor.
Starting tonight at 9 p.m., contract crews will close ramps from the outer loop to Kenilworth Avenue, and from East Fourth and Stonewall Streets to the outer loop. The closures will be in place until 6 a.m., continuing each night through Thursday morning.
At 10 p.m. Thursday, crews will close inbound lanes from Wilkinson Boulevard to the outer loop, as well as ramps from I-77 South and Clarkson Street to the outer loop (exit 9B) and from the outer loop to I-77 North (exit 1C).
The closures will wrap up by 6 a.m. Friday, closing again from 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday, June 22.
All the work is weather dependent and subject to change. Detour information will be online at DriveNC.gov under Mecklenburg County.
Drivers need to use caution and slow down while going through the work zones and detour routes.
