WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors plan to close a section of a Forsyth County freeway this week to continue the construction of sound walls.
Salem Parkway is scheduled to be closed in both directions between Peters Creek Parkway and Cloverdale Avenue from 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday until 6 the following mornings, and possibly during the same hours Friday night depending on weather and how the work progresses.
Traffic will be directed to a detour route along Peters Creek Parkway, First Street and Cloverdale Avenue.
The closures will allow crews to safely install sound walls along Salem Parkway near Crafton Street.
Motorists should slow down while traveling near the work zone and expect additional travel time due to the detour.
