WINSTON-SALEM – A bridge in Forsyth County is closed while crews conduct an emergency inspection.
A girder on the Hastings Hill Road bridge over the Winston-Salem Northern Beltway (Future I-74) was struck by an overheight vehicle. The bridge, located between Kernersville Road and the northern intersection with Sedge Garden Road, will be closed until the inspection is complete and the structure is deemed safe.
While the bridge is closed, drivers will be detoured to follow Kernersville and Sedge Garden roads to access points on either side of Hastings Hill Road.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working in this location and allow extra time for the detour.
